Using Aim
We want as many people as possible to be able to use Aim, including care workers and office staff with a disability. We design Aim to work for people who:
- zoom in or use larger text on their phone or computer
- use the keyboard instead of a mouse
- use a screen reader or voice control
- need clear, simple wording
We write the app in plain English and use clear labels, so care workers can record visits quickly and accurately.
How Accessible Aim Is
Aim is partially compliant with WCAG 2.2 level AA. We have not yet completed a full independent audit, so some parts may not be fully accessible. The areas most likely to be harder to use are:
- the rota calendar, where visits are dragged between staff and days
- maps and route views
- some charts and reports
- some PDF documents created from older templates
Our Plan
- By 31 March 2027: Full WCAG 2.2 AA audit of the web app, mobile app and website
- By 30 June 2027: Fix the issues found, starting with the screens care workers use most (visits, care tasks, medication and notes)
- Ongoing: Check accessibility as part of every new feature, and update this statement after the audit

Accessible Information Standard
Aim helps care providers meet the Accessible Information Standard by letting them record each person’s communication needs, such as preferred language, and share them with the care workers who visit.
